FOREVER Let Me Fly!
Many of us have been there. We signed up to be an Ambassador. Maybe your underlying reason was to have the monthly incentive of paying yourself back for a hobby you enjoyed. When I signed up back in October of 2016, that indeed was the reason why I joined. I was assigned to Lead Ambassador Pam Van Roekel. I didn't know any other Ambassadors with the company, but the powerful FOREVER computer system matched us up and boy has it been a match!
I had always loved working with FOREVER Artisan and Historian, so I ran the idea of doing a trade show the day after Thanksgiving by Pam. I thought to myself that if this "goes" at the trade show, I will actively continue to sell the product....that I'm obviously not the only one who is in love preserving photos.
I put out advertisements in the local newspapers, was featured on the craft show brochure, and I put the word out on social media. I didn't receive any response before the show, so I assumed it would be a "bust." On the day of the show, my table was set up and I was extremely nervous. I kept telling myself that I knew these products. I used Artisan, I had been a faithful user to Historian, and I had the kinks worked out with using FOREVER Storage.
The day started slow, with most people seeing my books and canvas and walking right past my table. 30 minutes into the show, I asked my daughter to help me change the tables around so the first thing people would see would be the old media, slides, and VCR tapes. The effect of this decision was mind-blowing.
Many stopped in the booth to tell me about their old media and not knowing what to do with it. All of a sudden, I had an elderly lady by the name of Mary stop by. I kept in mind Pam telling me not to judge people, that everyone can use FOREVER. Mary asked to sit down, as her health wasn't great. I got her a chair and she proceeded to tell me she had 4 adult children and all of their memories were on slides. She came to the craft show just to see me. She was in the process of seeing doctors and knew something was wrong with her. She wanted to get the slides converted for her kids. She didn't do anything with computers, but knew they would like those memories. I suggested a media conversion box and 4 USB sticks so she could give them to each child.
During our conversation, I had many customers coming and leaving my booth and I felt bad that I was giving all of my time to this one person. Well, Mary ended up being my first sale at FOREVER with a large media conversion box. I just made a sale. I was shocked!
I was elated about the interest my booth received. The sale from Mary lit a fire under me. I had also received interest from another person to come back to the community and do a short workshop to others about FOREVER services. Now, a little over a year later, I love it when people call me the "picture girl" and I enjoy going to trade fairs and planting seeds. My booth isn't flashy, it's functional. I always focus on media conversion because everyone has memories in their closet...they just need to get them out.
I was inspired by Sheri Meissner and have started a monthly Click Club for others to work on photos and ask me questions. Many times we have called the FOREVER home office during Click Club because I don't have all the answers and that is ok!! They have been great and have fun being on speaker phone with my group. I have had as few as 1 and as many as 13 people at Click Club. It is my favorite day of the month. Sharing my love of pictures is the most wonderful thing!
So I will admit, I joined FOREVER for myself. But now I have gained friendships with beautiful and empowering people. I myself am a Lead Ambassador, something I never thought a county girl in South Dakota could ever achieve. I have attended FOREVER Live! and still communicate with many I met at this conference. We are even getting a small group together this summer. I have been to many conferences over the years for work and for personal growth, but I have never before stayed in touch with those I met.
With FOREVER, I not only network with others but I have also learned to stretch my wings and have incentive to fly. "Unity is strength...when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved." I was able to join my fellow Ambassadors Pam and Sheri in the Bahamas for the 2017 Ambassador Incentive Trip - something that I never expected only joining less than 7 months prior.
If you are a user of FOREVER products, if you just joined for a discount, or if you have considered becoming an Ambassador and have yet to go forward on your journey, let my personal story give you the motivation to try. Take the next step. And don't just stop at being a personal use Ambassador. You'd be missing out on so much! This will be an unexpected ride full of wonderful things and what you can achieve is immeasurable. #stillonaride
