What does it mean to be a mother? When you picture your own, what do you think about? Is she strong? Kind? Loving? Brave? Did she embarrass you, or was she more reserved? Is she a bagged lunch mom? Did she cut off the crust?
No two moms are the same. Mine is certainly unlike any other; I think, at a certain age, we start seeing our mothers as people, beyond our identity as their children. My mother is the fiercest woman I’ve ever met. She is loud, funny, tenacious. She fights for what she believes in, always, without fear of consequence.
No relationship is a constant stream of sunshine & flowers, and ours was no exception. But would I change one single thing about her? Not a chance.
Take a look at how some of our FOREVER Team Members see their mothers:
At the end of the day, what makes up these relationships are memories - tucking you in at night, moving you into your home, hoarding tissues in her sleeves. No matter the kind of relationship, these memories are what make it special. How are you celebrating your moms?
